Make Your Headache Go Away!
Most people get headaches that are triggered by the same thing: lack of oxygen. And what is it that could deprive you of oxygen? Lack of water and poor breathing.

Have you ever monitored your breathing when one of your headaches gets triggered? I bet whatever has triggered you might have played a part in changing your breathing or the amount of oxygen your brain is receiving. If your triggers are stress related notice how the stress has changed your attitude, your posture, and your breathing. If it's a food or chemical trigger, realize that there is way to detox your body from harmful chemicals: drinking water and deep breathing.

I know it can be hard to remember to drink tons of water and breath properly but oxygen and water are the two things that you will die quickly without. You may not need a good attitude and a stress free life to keep living, but the water and oxygen thing is not really debatable. Often people who have undergone major body cleanses through fasting or juicing have had their headaches go away completely. This means that either the chemical trigger has been eliminated from their body, or they are being properly hydrated and nourished by changing their diet.

Flushing your body with water carries out waste chemicals and "recharges" your body, the same way a car battery needs the proper amount of water. Deep breathing acts as a pump for your body's blood and lymph (the stuff your cells sit float in) and filters waste from your cells and organs.

Cure Panic Attacks With Natural Remedies
After having your first panic attack, the feeling of handling another on your own is devastating, and you may have thought about going to your doctor and get a prescription. Before you do that, you should know that there are several natural treatments to help you deal with anxiety and panic attacks.

Anxiety and panic attacks medication The meds that you will most likely get from a doctor are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (or SSRIs) and benzodiazepines. SSRIs are the first choice in most cases. It takes a couple of weeks before they start to work probably.

Benzodiazepines are more effective as they drop the anxiety level very fast. Unfortunately, they are very expensive and you need to take them several times each day. Benzodiazepine has severe side effects such as headache, chest pains, nightmares, depressions and amnesia.

Prescribed drugs can be effective in most cases, but remember they do not treat the actual problem; they cause severe side effects and are very expensive in the long run. Unfortunately, many medical practitioners hand these drugs out like candy instead of focusing on and treating the real underlying problem. The real problem with this medication society is that people do not get the chance to dig deep inside themselves to find the real cause for their anxiety.

The reason natural cures are better Besides the fact that anxiety medication does not solve the problem, it will also lose its effectiveness over time and your body will get used to the medication and build up a resistance to the meds. It is a devastating feeling, when a person who has used anxiety medication for years, one day realizes that the medication is not working anymore.

This is exactly why natural cures should be your first priority if you ever find yourself in a situation where you would use remedies to help you cure your problems. The only situation where pharmacy medication is first priority is if you are in a situation where you are about to commit suicide because of your anxiety. But even in such a situation, as soon as you have your anxiety under control, it is advisable that you convert to natural treatments.

What is a natural cure? Your lifestyle, diet, exercise, balanced hormones and investigating your emotional history can all help you getting rid of anxiety and panic attacks in a natural way. What you eat can also have an enormous impact on your anxiety. Some experience that eating too much sugar can provoke an attack, so try to avoid junk food, white bread, cakes and candy for a while. Drink lots of water and stay away from soft drinks and coffee. Even though tea as a rule is healthy, some experience that drinking too much of it can increase anxiety levels. Instead, try to get lots of fruits and vegetables, nuts and berries. Optionally, you can take a multivitamin every day to fill in any nutritional gaps in your diet. Omega3 and Omega6 are also advisable to get essential acid fats.

Be sure to get enough sleep. How much sleep needed is different for each person, but somewhere between six and nine hours are the normal. Exercise has proven to help many with anxiety disorders. It helps you get your mind of things that are stressful and if you choose to run in a forest for example, you are forced to be in the "now". If your mind is flaking, you will stumble and fall. Studies have shown that people who exercise and live on a healthy diet are less depressed and very rarely anxious.

Masking your symptoms with medications will only help you in the short run, but the side effects in the long run are really bad. Focus on changing your lifestyle instead, and live a healthy, active life.

Thyroid Secrets Revealed
Did you know that thyroid disease can cause unexplained weight gain and fatigue? It can also cause depression, hair loss, anxiety, dry skin and poor memory. When tested randomly, at least 10% of adults are found to have thyroid disease.

The funny thing is, many with typical symptoms of a thyroid disorder are tested and found to have 'normal' thyroid function. Furthermore many being treated for thyroid disease still have many of the symptoms remain.

Why is it that so many people who have symptoms are not diagnosed? And why are many individuals who are diagnosed with thyroid disease and receiving treatment not feeling better?

Simply put, the shortcoming is in the "normal range" numbers of the thyroid tests that most doctors rely on. Laboratory ranges can be determined by consensus of experts or by simply averaging scores.

For blood sugar levels, for example, panels of researchers review glucose levels in people who have become diabetic and compared it to what their blood sugar levels were in the years preceding their diagnosis. Those whose morning fasting blood sugar levels are under 99 were found to have lower rates of becoming diabetic. Therefore 99 is considered the upper limit of the "normal range".

For thyroid disease the ranges are simply averages. What this means is that a lab will review 10,000 scores from a thyroid test and create a high and low range based on this group. The low range is the lowest 2.5% of scores and high range is the highest 2.5%.

The problem with this method is that these normal values are only reflective of whomever is being tested. Who gets a thyroid test done? Primarily two groups: those known to have thyroid disease and those suspected of having it. These two groups should not be expected to have the same thyroid blood levels as those with optimal thyroid function, yet this is the assumption inherent in the normal ranges.

So what is the solution? If you or someone you love has symptoms of thyroid disease, such as weight they can't lose or unexplained fatigue and depression, don't give up when the family doctor runs a test, then says everything is fine. Push harder and work with a doctor who will listen and understands the shortcomings of relying only on test reference ranges.

Whether you have thyroid disease or not, here are a few easy steps everyone can take to improve your thyroid function:

1. Get the Right Amount of Iodine. This is easy, you know the little girl with the umbrella on your salt? You want iodized salt for use at home. Sea salt can also be found in iodized forms. All the extra salt we get in processed foods and at restaurants has no iodine. Eat seafood, any kind helps. Have some seaweed every now and then like Nori found on sushi. Take a multi that contains about 100 mcg of iodine. Avoid very high doses of iodine found in kelp and iodine supplements. Too much is as bad or worse than too little.

2. Minimize Mercury. Seafood is great but be aware of high-mercury seafood. The biggest no-no is don't eat tuna daily. The most complete current data is from the FDA: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~frf/sea-mehg.html Avoid mercury amalgams. Getting new fillings? Get porcelain or ceramic. Got old ones that the dentist says should go? Get them out and ask us about ways to detox.

3. Avoid Perchlorate. This is a toxic by product from rocket and jet fuels. It also forms spontaneously in the arid Southwest soil and ends up in our water. We absorb it from our skin and intestines. Once in our bodies it prevents our thyroid glands from absorbing iodine. Solutions: drink purified water only, not tap water. Ideally use a filter for your shower also.

In the case of suspected thyroid disease or any other symptom, never assume that you need to suffer. Educate yourself and take action. You deserve to feel your best!

Four Steps to Finding the Best Doctors
Illness and accidents change quality of life. Recovery is all about regaining quality of life. Our ability to regain our quality of life is dependent on the quality of medical care that we receive and our ability and desire to recover. Ability and desire to recover are under our control, for the most part, the quality of medical care that we receive is in the hands of those that we choose to give us care.

In the past, we didn't have the ability to choose our care givers with any level of authority because of the lack of information that was available. We depended on the recommendations of friend, relatives and other care givers. With the introduction and expansion of the Internet our ability to make informed decisions about the quality of our health care has changed. We can now check a doctors standing with the American Medical Association, we can check on this level of education, we can check on their disciplinary records.

The medical field is changing so fast that if our doctors are not pursuing their education on a continuing basis we are virtually guaranteed that they are working without all the information relative to our condition, and thus we are getting something less then the best medical care. In the past, the likelihood of our full recovery was left to the luck of the draw; if we got a knowledgeable doctor we recovered, if we didn't we suffered and often died.

The burden thus falls to the patient to search for the best doctor and medical facility that is most qualified to provide the care that we need. Here are the steps that you should take in finding the best care for your needs.

1. Research your condition. This involves knowing what's ailing you. Go to Google and search your condition with the proper medical terms, and gain a full understand of what you have. This will arm you so that you can ask intelligent questions.

2. Ask informed questions. What is your experience with my condition? How often have you preformed this operation? What level of research have you done on my condition? Have you written any papers or given any presentations on my condition? You might think these questions are threatening, but who do you want providing you care the expert or the practitioner? If you had a valuable antique car; who would you want to work on your car?

3. Locate the expert. Again on Google read what the expert has written on your condition and use this information to determine if your doctor is the best doctor for your recovery. If not, contact the expert and ask him or her to review your case. The expert isn't going to be looking for business; they'll give you a true assessment of your condition and advise you on how to proceed.

4. Control your destiny. If your local doctor objects to your proactive action you probably have the wrong doctor. It's your life, it's your body, and ultimately it is only you that will have to live with the consequences of your decisions. Everyone else will move on.

Carbs Are Not the Enemy!
Carbohydrates are the most important energy source for the body. Without the energy provided by them, the body will consume very fast the protein and fat deposits and will be more and more tired. Eliminating the carbohydrates from the diet is not a weight loss solution. The healthy way is to choose the right carbs to consume.

Whole bread is not causing gaining weight if the other foods of the meal are respecting the principles of a healthy diet.

White rice is just rice with the most valuable ingredients removed. Whole rice contains 7 times more vitamin B1, 6 times more vitamin B6, 3 times more zinc, and 4 times more iron. Besides the nutritional values, whole rice has benefic effects like decreasing the bad cholesterol concentrations, the triglycerides and increasing the good cholesterol level.

The potato is a very healthy food, rich in carbohydrates, protein with all the essential amino-acids, minerals and vitamins, being at the same time fat free.

Potatoes do not cause weight gain. Even if many people think so, things are not what they seem. The guilty party is the thing you add: butter, margarine, oil, cream or milk. So, it's the association of these ingredients with the potatoes we need to stay clear off, and not the boiled vegetables.

Another inappropriate combination is potatoes with different kinds of meat. But if you want a French fries portion really bad, you may get it between meals, without any meat. Make sure you reduce a meal after you commit the deed, but don't skip it entirely.

Here are the values for 200g potatoes, depending on the cooking style:

Boiled potatoes - 140 kcal
Mashed potatoes - 420 kcal
French fries - 530 kcal
Potato chips - 870 kcal

Here is a 5 day diet, for the week days, and for the weekend you may choose to repeat any of the 5 days.

Day 1
Breakfast: buttermilk and 2 slices of whole bread, coffee.
Snack: salad (green salad, tomatoes, 4 olives).
Lunch: a grilled chicken breast and tomatoes.
Snack: a boiled egg.
Dinner: vegetables soup, any quantity.

Day 2
Breakfast: a banana and coffee.
Snack: an apple.
Lunch: Mexican vegetables and rice.
Snack: a pear.
Dinner: grilled chicken breasts and green salad.

Day 3
Breakfast: 2 slices of bread and low fat cow's cheese, coffee.
Snack: a grapefruit.
Lunch: grilled chicken breasts, boiled broccoli.
Snack: yogurt.
Dinner: 2 baked potatoes, yogurt.

Day 4
Breakfast: a boiled egg, a slice of low fat cheese, coffee.
Snack: an apple.
Lunch: a bowl of tomatoes soup with rice, raw salad.
Snack: an orange.
Dinner: an oriental salad without egg.

Day 5
Breakfast: buttermilk and 2 slices of whole bread.
Snack: yogurt.
Lunch: rice with pumpkins, green salad.
