Have you ever felt that your heart beats slowly? That it isn’t really working in a normal pace? If you have, but you didn’t know what it was, I will tell you. It is called bradycardia. Bradycardia is a heart condition whose main characteristic is slow heart rate. That means that your heart isn’t beating in its normal pace. Normal pace of your heart is anywhere between 65 and 95 beats per minute. If your heart beats under 60 per minute, you probably have bradycardia.

Bradycardia isn’t really that dangerous, so you don’t have to panic. What’s really interesting is that many sportsmen have bradycardia — and they’ve gotten it from working out hard. The thing is that if you constantly work out, your heart gets used to “hard” so then when you, for example take a run, it doesn’t pump that much blood because it’s already been pumping enough.

If this condition is causing you some problems, be sure to check a doctor. He will perform some tests that will tell you for sure if you’ve got bradycardia. It can be cured by taking some medicines, but your doctor will decide whether you should do that or not. Many people have bradycardia all their lives, and never have any problems. That’s why the best thing to do is to visit your doctor and, according to your sheet, he will decide what to do.

An opposite condition to bradycardia is tachycardia, which represents a fast heart rate that is above the normal levels. Tachycardia is more dangerous than bradycardia, but in both cases, be sure to check with your doctor.
